Pune: Manipal Hospital Kharadi celebrated World Physiotherapy Day by hosting a special campaign dedicated to senior citizens, focusing on fall prevention, healthy ageing, and early symptom awareness.

The initiative combined physiotherapy with medical guidance to help the elderly adopt practices that improve mobility, balance, and independence while reducing the risk of age-related health issues.

More than 60 participants, including senior citizens and post-surgical patients who had undergone knee or hip replacement surgeries, attended the program.

The highlight of the event was an interactive Health Talk by Dr Mokshi Koul, Consultant – Physiotherapy, who spoke about the importance of preventive care, recognizing early warning signs, and adopting lifestyle habits that promote healthy ageing.

Expert Insights on Healthy Ageing and Fall Prevention

During her session, Dr Mokshi Koul emphasized: “Managing strength and balance through proper exercise, prevention, and early symptom assessment are key components of healthy ageing. On World Physiotherapy Day, our goal was to empower senior citizens to lead independent, safer, and healthier lives.”
